Scratch 9 is a really cool comic written by Rob Worley and drawn by Jason Kruse. It is about a cat who is able to summon the assistance of one of his other nine lives when he gets into a pickle. This fun tale is perfect reading for those that are young in age and young at heart.
I drew up one of my favorite characters, Ichirou. He is a Shaolin cat from 489 A.D. (And as Rob states, he’s hot like wasabi!) Ichi is a fun character to draw, so maybe I’ll have a little more time to kick around a few more Scratch 9 sketches in the near future! If you haven’t checked out this great series, run out to your local comic book store and check it out!
Oh, and if you’d like to see the black and white line drawing of Ichi, you can check out Rob’s blog on Scratch 9′s site.

Amity Blamity is a great comic by Mike White. It is a very funny tale about a girl named Gretchen and a pig named Chester. Mike has some really amazing art and some very funny comedic timing. You have to check Mike’s blog out! Do it! Do it!
In fact, if you recall the Halloween Comic that was posted in October, Slob Zombie dressed up as another main character, Downey.
I was lucky enough to score this awesome sketch from Mike featuring Desmond and Trish from the “Nerd News 2” comic way back in February. Looks like Des brought his own special chair to the party!
Amity Blamity Book One will be released very soon in comic stores and as a digital download. This is one book not to miss!

I was lucky enough to meet Mike Boldt when I was at the Chicago Comic Con this year. He is a very cool guy, and a very talented illustrator. I picked up his “25¢” Sketchbook when I was there and haven’t stopped looking at it since. You can check out more of his great artwork at his site: boldtmanstudios.com.
I was fortunate enough to get this really cool sketch of Desmond just chilling in his hooded sweatshirt. (How fun that a Canadian artist drew Desmond, who was born in Canada.) Thanks Mike!

At SPX last weekend, I was able to catch up with Scott Campbell, who is an amazing artist! Scott has a fresh and clever style to his illustrations. I first met him a few years ago at HeroesCon in Charlotte (where I bought his really cool “Indie Island” print) and have been a huge fan of his ever since.
I was lucky enough to get this great drawing from him at Small Press Expo. You can check out more of his funky fresh artwork on his blog.

I am pleased to announce that Desmond’s latest book will be released on Saturday and Sunday at SPX! Just like the previous “Dozen” book, Desmond’s Devastating Dozen is printed in color on high quality paper, hand assembled with a special sketch in the back! It is limited to one hundred copies. Stop by my table at SPX and pick up a copy!
