Well everyone is doing it, so I guess I will too…

On April 24th and 25th, Desmond and I made an appearance at SPACE… Small Press and Alternative Comic Expo. Like many people have already blogged, this show was a little small but it was also very fun. There were tons of cool artists. Where I did not sell as much as I had hoped, I did network with a lot of people. It was really cool meeting everyone, and because of that experience I would be happy to do it all over again.

One of the best parts of the show was being with my wife by my side, and seated next to all of my good friends. The entire back row of the show was inhabited by “those guys from Detroit”. I was seated next to Morgan Eagleton, Shane and Chris Houghton (the creators of Reed Gunther), Mike Roll and Kelly Tierney, Tyler Scarlet, Guy Davis and Kassandra Heller. (Or is it spelled Cassandra?) I wonder if we’ll ever exhibit together is such fashion ever again. Not only was it a pleasure, but an honor to stand next to all of you.

Saturday night was the most memorable. The guys from Quarantine Comics held a drawing jam outside of their room in the Ramada. The drawings got slightly out of hand and the main event was definitely the creation of Guy Davis’ Sex Bear! (Ha Ha! Stay tuned to Facebook for more on this!)

Anyway, that is a brief summery of the eventful weekend that was SPACE. I included a pic of some of the cool books I picked up during the show. My hats off to all of the wonderful artists and creators in attendance.
